Situation Overview
Winter in Addis Ababa is unforgiving for those without warm clothing. Children shiver in thin uniforms on their way to school. Elderly women huddle under threadbare blankets. Families huddle together through freezing nights. Babul Keyer USA has already distributed clothing to 68,600 individuals, but this year, we must reach 70,000 vulnerable women and children before the coldest months arrive. The need has never been greater—inflation means families cannot afford warm clothes, displacement has left thousands without possessions, and climate change has made winters colder. We need an emergency mobilization of resources to purchase and distribute winter clothing, blankets, and shoes before hypothermia and illness claim more victims.
