Situation Overview
They left Ethiopia seeking work in the Middle East—desperate to support their families. They returned traumatized, indebted, and broken. Migrants who were abused, unpaid, and stranded now find themselves back home with nothing. No job. No income. No hope. In partnership with ILO, Babul Keyer USA has successfully reintegrated 75 returnees through training and seed money. But over 500 returnees have approached us for help, and we cannot turn them away. These young Ethiopians need urgent psychosocial support, skills training, and startup capital to rebuild their lives. Without immediate intervention, they face destitution, homelessness, and in some cases, may attempt dangerous migration again. This is a national crisis demanding urgent response.
